Did you see the second Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer? If not, why not? Well click here if you want to see it in all of it's Hi-Def glory. My reaction was expected but a little unexpected. The intro gripped my anxiety, the subtle sound effects were oh so familiar and then the last 4-5 seconds brought me to tears.....happy tears and if I haven't seen an old friend in a very long time. About 30+ years to be exact. What I was most curious about was just how many others had this same reaction. Below is a re-post of someone filming the live premiere at the Star Wars Celebration.....their reactions were a mirror image of mine. Enough for me to feel apart of them yet so highly jealous not to have seen it in the raw. The video below is from UL Productions on YouTube.
Human nature is funny and I certainly am overwhelmed by the response to this new teaser by millions of Star Wars fans. When several people reach a common thread of emotion over a movie trailer such as this I can't help but reflect on why there's such a deep connection. Star Wars was never expected to have this kind of emotional and certainly multi-generational connection when it first came out in the late 70s, but it did. Was is just great story telling? Can we all connect to the situations portrayed throughout the series? I would love to hear your reasons why this has become one of the greatest movie franchises in history.
